Foolin' Around on a Sunday

We spent a little quality family time today
in the round pen

I'm working on switching Mercy to
my personal favorite horse Monte

First she has to learn to ride him
in a controlled environment

She did very very well

Great stops, turns and backing

Monte, bless his heart
is such a laid back animal
been there done that 100 times

He's older now
seasoned
and got a good handle on him
After much clucking and flapping of the legs
she managed to get him to trot
ok - a very slow jog

She was so proud of herself

Daddy came out
since it's his one day off
and they played follow the leader

sans tack

Eventually I got my horse back
Nee Nee and I did

Yeah
the dogs ride too
you betcha

After that I got my horse nekkid
and practiced some balance exercises
and whoa

Go ahead and see for yourself
and do ignore the mud hole in this pen
someday I'll quit leaving the hose running

Could she say any clearer
"RIDE ME" ?

YAAY Mikey! So good to see you back, I really missed you. Boy what an exciting time you have with all your animals and 'visitors' :)

Mercy is doing really well with her riding, she looks so at home on Monte. Hope Thelma is better today, poor babe.

Take care m'dear

I'm not sure my balance is that good on the ground. And half the time my dogs don't come on command. That was awesome! Mercy looked like such big girl up there on Monte. I'll let Shelly know her horse is taken! How's Thelma feeling today?

Mery is really getting long-legged. I think she is gonna have her momma's legs...lucky girl! She looks good on Monte.

Olga is too cool. My horses always seem to be saying...run away, run away when it comes time to ride-LOL.

Mercy is doing well. It's great that you have put her on a big horse to learn. Not on some mean pony. (Or maybe "mean ponies" are just an English thing?) What nice animals you have.

Your little Mercy looks great up there. I always regret not getting my Zoe started as a young child. You do have some great horses! But that is a reflection of you guys!

Its great to have a horse that is so 'versitile'. We had a half arab half welch that was AWSOME - You could seriously put ANYONE on her. She was great with kids, and inexperienced people - yet we gamed her because she was FAST. Its hard to find a horse that shifts between the two - Beaner was one of those and it sounds like Monte is too.... She looks great!!!

Oh geez.. it it so nice to know I am not the only one to make mud puddles. And hubby sure rubs it in for a few days after... at least until he does it. LOL
