I am NOT a crazy, really

We're going to get to why
I'm not crazy in a minute
but first

my camera has died it's sad death
it lasted a little over a year
and when I get into town
I'll be buying a new one

until then we're out of luck for pictures

****************
Sugarfoot continues to learn about
picking up back feet

I've been real diligent about that
and she's getting it

that every time I come in
I'm going to want all 4 feet
pretty please

her friendliness improves
by leaps and bounds

now when I come in she's right there
by my side by the time I get the gate shut

I no longer jump sideways when I realize
she's right behind me

it's progress

I'm considering showing her
the kids saddle today

without the kid in it

*********************

my mom's little paralyzed dog
is almost back up

he can take a few steps
and get his hind up

we hope he'll get back to normal
but it's taking a long time

**********************

the strangeness around here
exceeds expectations sometimes

yesterday I watched Wade, Mercy
and Little Dude
dancing

picture this:
there's an electronic gerbil here
that sings
"Everybody was Kung Fu Fighting"

don't ask why I have that

so that's playing on the counter
Wade has the flashlight
and is dancing around while Mercy
and LD go crazy over the beam of light

and Wade starts singing
"Little Dude was Kung Fu Fighting"
"His paws were fast as lightning!"

shaking my head
I'm not crazy
just the people around me

*********************

I had a birthday

I'm 30 again
for the sixth time

I woke up to Wade falling out of bed
running outside and yelling
"You *&$%$*@*!! "

the horses broke off the water spigot
and we had a geyser

Happy Birthday to me!!

********************

I put a new song at the top of the list
that embodies everything I'm about

Justin Moore's
"Small Town USA"

sigh
it's what life is about

My "People Are Crazy" song is
a broken link right now
bummer

but we were listening to it at work
and as it ended I was washing my hands
and I said to my boss
"I believe that's the perfect country-western song"

and he said
"Except it doesn't say anything about Mama"

and I said
"or prison"

and together we said
"or trains"

and we concluded it was not the
perfect country-western song

that honor will forever go to
David Allen Coe
and
"You Never Even Call Me By My Name"

**************

Wade took Mercy to practice barrels
the other day at Grandma's house

they asked if I would go
but I opted to have some quiet time

he comes back and says

"I grew 10 new gray hairs"

apparently she thinks she's a speed demon now
and her horse is working real well at that

I told him
"That's why I sometimes don't want to ride with her"
she scares me something fierce

he said the neighbors were on their porch
having a laugh at Wade barking orders
"You STOP that horse right here!
MERCY!

Slow down!!"

*********************

Ok
here's the part where you'll think
I'm nuts

Wade and I saw the Phoenix Lights

we officially saw UFOs
on Tues and Weds night out in the desert

lights where there should be no lights
and lights moving like they shouldn't

first night we saw 20-30 of them
I thought it was a new subdivision
and then they were gone...

next night we saw 4
farther away
doing bizarre patterns
and behavior

after an hour
they left too

I started looking on Youtube
and I found the closest video of the same thing

and looking around
for the past few years
these have been sighted all over the world
and there's video of them
even in the daylight

so I sound like a nut

but we all saw them
and one of our shoeing clients
he saw them too

so here's my question

have y'all seen these??
or something that you just can't explain?

I'm not crazy

I keep telling myself that...

Nope you are nuts Mikey!
Ha ha just kidding .I have often seen odd lights or unusual things ,mostly in the fall and winter around here. I just chalk it up to a trick of my eyes or the fading light , try not to think about it to hard and just enjoy the spectacle for whatever it is.

Nope, everyone else is crazy and you are perfectly sane!! I don't know if I will ride or not yet - Misty the Mustang and I are working on our communication skills - :) - so we will see. Heather for sure, Hailey and Payton possibly and I may drag Jasmine and Justice for fun.

Sounds like you are having a lot of fun and thanks for the comment!

Happy 30th Birthday, for the 6th time! Ha!
You and I have the same taste in country music. I love this song, and it is on my playlist too.
That is so cute, Wade yelling at Mercy to slow her horse down! You'll probably have a professional barrel racer on your hands when she is older!
Oh, and I believe you saw a UFO! You aren't crazy!

Happy birthday! I remember that you posted about how Mercy got her name; looks like you were right!

Happy birthday! But I'm the one who went to her mailbox and received a gift today - thanks! And please tell your mom thanks, too.

Now about those lights...I've not seen them but it's worth sleeping under the stars tonight to see if they're out there. There's so much military activity in this neck of nowhere that I'd probably put my money on them, although you can never be sure. With your contingent of Kung Fu fighters, you should feel safe no matter what they are.

I seen them about 6 or so years ago. My friend I were camping in her apple orchard and it was about 2 am and these red lights appeared and started chasing eachother across the sky. We both just froze and heald our breath. They zoomed one way, screeched to a halt, sat there for a few seconds, zoomed off again and then back, halted and then did some loops etc. Scared the hell out of us. We were like 15 going OMFG WTF IS THAT!?!?!??!? So us being us, we went further into the orchard, 2 am, no flashlight to watch these lights zoom across the sky faster than anything man made on this earth can fly to my knowledge.

Happy Birthday! I just found your blog and thought I would let you know I love it! :)

By the way...I don't think you are crazy; however, you might want to consider that I am. :)

Those lights give me the willies! (willys? - not sure how to spell that) Nothing like that here in Nebraska.

Now I am singing ... I was drunk the day my mama got out of prison... and I went to pick her up in the rain... Yep - loved that song - the heart of the Urban Cowboy days! They are a blurred memory! :)

Kids and speed... my boys and husband had a little matchrace yesterday. My youngest come in second. He was wearing the GPS and clocked himself at 40 mph. My heart stopped as I shot the video... Gosh they grow up so fast...

Happy Belated Birthday! I think it's pretty awesome that your horses chose to surprise you with a fountain display on your big day! How cool is that?!? I mean, in the middle of the desert and everything? That must have taken some careful planning, is all I'm saying.

Lights? What lights?

Well Happy Birthday! Remember you are only as old as you feel or as young as you want to be!
You are not crazy- those lights are definatly something weird. But seriously- if you were an Alien come to Earth- wouldn't you want to go to Disneyland or something rather than the wilds of Arizona? I'm just sayin'....
